The top 2 players, designated by the Head Coach for each varsity team within Clark County, will receive an invite. Player names and registration are due by 9am on October 3rd, 2024.
Current # of Teams Committed: 11 (22 players)
Committed Teams: Camas, Union, Skyview, Battle Ground, Mt View, Evergreen, Prairie, Woodland, Ridgefield, King's Way, Seton Catholic
Uncommitted Teams: Heritage, Washougal, Columbia River, Washougal, Hockinson, Bay, La Center, Fort Vancouver
We will have two teams: Team Green vs. Team Blue (Green and Blue are the Clark County colors). Half of the total players will be on Team Green and the other half on Team Blue
Once the participating players are known, we will rank each player using factors such as season scoring average, GHIN index, etc. We will then divvy up the players with the goal to make the teams as even as possible.
Once the roster for Teams Green and Blue are determined, then two players from each team will be partnered up. They will play the opposing team partners of equal strength. For example, the #1 ranked player and #4 ranked player (both on Team Green) will be partners and will play #2 ranked player and #3 ranked player (both on Team Blue). Due to this ranking format, it is unlikely that the two players from one school will be paired up as partners for their best ball match.
Player names and registration are due from the school's Head Coach by 9am Thursday, October 3rd, 2024. Teams, best ball partners, and tee times will be determined within 2 days from the registration due date. Details about teams and tee times can be found on the Teams & Tee Times page.
The format used will be Team Best Ball Stroke Play. In each best ball match, the team with the lowest score after 18 holes will win one point for their team. Ties will earn 1/2 point.
Tee times will begin at 1pm. We will put the lowest ranked teams out first with top 4 ranked players in the final group. We encourage players who finish their round to return to the course to watch the final groups come in and cheer on their team. Please use the Golf Genius website to view tee times and live leaderboard. Enter GGID 24clarkcountycup to view.
Yes. Each group will have a walking scorer that will be responsible to input scores each hole into Golf Genius, which will allow all to view the leaderboard in real-time. Please use the Golf Genius website to view tee times and live leaderboard. Enter GGID 24clarkcountycup to view.
We will play the White tees to keep up with pace of play guidelines and remain consistent with customary tees used in league matches.
Ties will be broken via a playoff involving only the final group. For playoffs only, if there is a tie on the best ball on the playoff hole, then we will look to the second ball to break the tie. If both balls tie, then the playoff will continue to the subsequent hole.
We would encourage you to play your ball and hole out for every hole. The reason is that there is a trophy for the tournament medalist. Additionally, the medalist will earn an exemption into the next Royal Oaks Invitational Tournament (ROIT). This is one of the most prestigious events offered in the Pacific Northwest first contested in 1957 with a rich history of great champions including former PGA Tour winner, Peter Jacobsen. Without a true score on every hole, the player will no longer be eligible for the medalist crystal or ROIT exemption.
Yes! The caddie should be a member of your school's golf team. No parents or coaches can be a caddie. In accordance with WIAA rules, coaches CAN talk with a player up to the green.
A caddie's duty would include but are not limited to:
Keeping up the pace of play. Examples include getting yardages for shots before the player arrives to the ball, taking responsibility for holding and replacing pins, cleaning clubs after each use so time isn't wasted when the same club is needed for a subsequent shot.
Helping with course maintenance. Examples include replacing/sanding divots, fixing pitch marks on greens, and otherwise caring for the course.
