The Clark County Cup golf tournament will begin in 2024. This tournament was born from the vision of Chris Harlow after attending the U.S. Kids World Championship in Pinehurst, NC with his son, Christian. Players age out of the U.S. Kids World Championship at age 12 and is therefore the last U.S. Kids World Championship they will ever play. During this final tournament and only for the 12-year old division, players have the ability to qualify for a team event played after the final day of the stroke play championship, called the Van Horn Cup. It includes the top 20 players from the stroke play Championship. Chris saw the youth golfers give everything they had to qualify for this event and took note how much it was filled with team camaraderie, new friendships, and great golf. It was clear a similar event needed to make its way to Clark County, WA.
Qualifying
Following the boys fall golf season, the top two players from the surrounding high schools within Clark County from all classifications who meet a minimum scoring average requirement will be invited to participate in the Clark County Cup, a one-day best ball tournament.
Format
The qualifying players will be divided into two teams. Two players from each team will play against two players from the opposing team in a team best ball stroke play format. In each match, the team with the lowest score after 18 holes will win one point for his team with ties earning 1/2 point.
